Salisbury

I was over at Sals today doing some updating the the Spanky switchback turn. This is the first switchback you hit when you climb the Spanky.Please note this turn is now under construction and you'll have to be a little cautious when you ride through it.

This has been on the "to do" list for years, but I'm finally getting around to it cause I'm bored. Not much trailwork going on at Sals these days so I figured it was time to start a few small repair projects.

I'm in the mood to play with some dirt over at Sals. Thinking I'll work on the Spanky switchback turns-widening it out a little. Since I'm a late night person time will be afternoon. 2'ish. Tomorrow I'll post more detail.Harder rain cancels, light rain OK.

Riding will probably be out of the question at Sals Sunday so why not do something useful and help out improving the switchback flow?

I was over at Sals today looking around in the area below
dodson and west of the gas pipeline. I re-flagged a few spots for a trail idea there. Its looking a little mo' better! This would be an extenson of the old part of the yellow trail.

Anyone feel like doing any trail stuff at Sals Sunday? It might be a good time to hike out some sections to look at new trail ideas or even do some maintenance . I talked to a few folks that had an interest but who knows. Thinking about 1-2 PM which according to Bob is too gooey to ride so this kind of thing is ideal!

There is an area by Dodson to check out and adjust some flags that are already there for a new trail, plus a new area near the switchbacks that could be flagged. Joe even mentioned doing a little trailwork on the lower orange to clean up a few turns.

Does anyone have GPS data of Sals rides that they can send me? I'm especially interested in plain text or KML formats, but I'm pretty sure I can work with anything. Thanks!

Rode Sals from Dodson today. The sun started setting when I got to the lower red. Pretty. Also got pretty dark and I had my old helmet without the mount for the light! Derrr...

We could always do some hiking over at Sals tomorrow. Should be beautiful. Think early PM.

I'm in the mood now to start working on the section of trail that crosses the public st powerline adjacent to Dodson. The trail idea for this area gets thumbs up from everyone that has seen it including Bob, Doug, and eatsboulders. The bottom connection to the red is good. The rest of it isn't finalized but that shouldn't be a problem and could be determined later.

There are at least 6 people that are willing to work on it like right now, which would be good because we might be able to get a few weeks of work in before the freeze. This section will be pretty much rake and ride.

Hiking Sals today from Dodson. Just looking around at the pretty scenery and maybe some lines for trails.
