spanky
Came across a newly downed tree on spanky Monday night. Looks like it could be a good crossing but I'm not sure. It's pretty elevated and pretty big.

Sal's......if you ever get that feeling like someone is watching you, they are..;)
No, really, been at the hospital working the last 3 days and as I wait for the elevator on the 9th floor I have a great view of Sal's, especially the area of the dialysis parking lot.
Most recent sighting, today, 245pm, white helmet, entering Sal's from the dialysis parking lot. Rode nice little loop right before hitting that little hill that leads to the trail..red I think.
So, if you feel like you are being watched..you are. :cornut:
According to webmaster B Friday at 1 is a good time to hike over at Sals. There are two areas where it would be cool to see a new trail go in.
The first one is near Dodson. The second is in the creek area at Consitution. My real aim for Friday is to look at the area near Dodson but we can always hike the red over to Consti and the creek as well.
I saw a bow hunter heading into Salisbury when I was leaving on Wednesday and this reminded me to post. I was informed by a friend of mine who bow hunts, that during bow only season (and possibly at all times) bow hunters are not required to display or wear the 250 sq. in. of orange. I checked the law/regulations through the PA game commission's website to make sure and it appears to be correct if I'm reading the legal stuff right. Anyone know for sure as well?
Rudy has really got the ball rolling on some kiosks being installed by Scouts at Sals. The club will be purchasing the supplies, but in order to cut some of the costs we wanted to post this supply list in case anyone might have any of these needed supplies they would like to donate.

Hey, Couple weeks ago My girlfriend and I were traveling thru PA on a mountain bike trip and decided to hit sals after some research we did on this site. So Thanks for this site (VERY helpfull) and thanks to the trail builders at Sals. As a trail builder myself in CT, I was totally amazed and blown away with the rock work involved to create the double bank turn.. Very impressive. Again, thanks.
Also hit sourlands in New Jersey after logging into this forum and reading a post about it. Great stuff there too. Another great spot was Governor Dick.
I watched some hunter guys unload there gear(crossbows) from their pickup on Dodson while I was getting ready to ride yesterday. Anyhow, they didn't leave their permit obtained from Salisbury on the dash of their truck, which they are required to do. This isn't a big deal, but I'm just mentioning it because I almost ran into a hunter on the trail.
I thinks that it's pretty cool that there is a website for the mountain bikers for this area. I have been to the Salisbury site a few times myself. I'm more of a rookie as I've only been there a few times in the four years that I've lived here. The trails are wild, they wear you down but I enjoy them. I would like to meet up with some MTB that are rookies on the trails. I have an old Specialized Hardrock that I use. It handles the trails ok. Well let me get onto my bitch about the Constitution. Like I said, we moved up here four years ago, right at the top of Broadway.
I wanted to let everyone know about some stuff going on at Sals. that is sort of not cool, IMO. Maybe I'm jumping the gun on this but we've put a lot of hard work into probably the premiere place to ride in the valley and I don't want it to get screwed up. Yesterday I parked at the lower lot on Consti. and just before I started my ride a couple of dudes pulled up and broke out their paintball guns for a little skirmish. They said they were going across the RR tracks and they have a section that is all flagged out for their "paintball wars", as he called it.
Well, I took my first ride at Sal's today with crashtestdummy(CTD).
First, a BIG thank you to all of you that made that trail system what it is. Just amazing!!
I had such a blast!! Had a few falls, nothing major, but enjoyed every minute of the ride. What a HIGH!!!!
CTD was an excellent trail guide with the patience of a saint, and more importantly, a teacher. She really helped me with techniques that made the ride so much fun.
I've worked at St luke's for 3.5yrs and never knew those trails were there! Now, I can't wait to bring my bike to work w/ me and do a quick ride after work.
