070121_Orange Trail Work

I was running a little late this morning and forgot my camera. Too bad, because....

The day started at 9am with 12 people from the Chain Gang, Dirt Devils and Valley Mountain Bikers on Dan's "base mile" ride at Salisbury.

Directly followed by...
15 people from the Chain Gang, Dirt Devils and Valley Mountain Bikers cutting in new trail at Salisbury.

It was cool to see some people from DD I haven't seen in a while and meet a couple really nice new people too.

We were standing on the orange trail ridge watching riders go by below us -- one rider (Darren?) climbed up the hill with his dog to ask how he could help next time. We also saw Mark Bowman ride by below with a couple other riders. Rumor has it that he's gonna' buy a beer for everyone who's been building lately! Is that true??Mark?? (Feel free to pass this info on and inflate as you see fit -- and then be sure to stop by SMC and ask him to pay up! Wink )

After Christmas trailwork?

I have off the week between Christmas and New Years with no major plans. Aside from finishing the Club Membership Web pages one of those days and riding of course. I'd be into spending some of the free time working on the Orange trail. Anybody else available during next week?

Sals stuff

Did some flagging today at Sals where the orange will it the red. There is a potential to make more orange, so to speak, which will have us using more red to match(or how far up the hill you make the meeting point).

That was great lets do it again

Howdy,
a lot more dirt got moved over at Sals again today.

We're almost finished with the lower section of the orange trail. We finished
up to about the 1/2 way point of the climb back up to the red.To complete the connection we need
another trail day-but it will be less intense than what we've been doing.

So another trailday on the 17th is proposed. Please post if you can make it.

Anyhow we had lots of trailworkers today Joe-Bob-Rob-Greg-John-Ritch-Dave working 3 hours so 27hrs today.

The take on the new trail is that its awesome! You'll love this section. Lots of ups and downs, cool gullies, banks, scenery, and some neat rocks to ride over. The crew is getting really good at trailwork and trail design too!
