Sals Trail Names

If we're going to put up signs & posts, we're going to need names... Some of my suggestions, and ones I heard, in the order I sometimes ride them:

Lower orange: Roller Toaster

Red (from dialysis to lower spanky lot): St Luke's Trail, Main Trail

Red(?) Spanky, also Upper Spanky (the come-along trail) if you skip the switchback

Blue: Switchback, to the rest-break rock.

Blue: Ridge Trail (the older of the two trails)

Newer ridge trail: Perimeter Trail (or should we consider the Ridge Trail a loop, and make this part of the Ridge Trail?)

Some more trailwork ideas at Sals

Here's another little map that shows some trailbuilding ideas over at Sals.

This stuff is in the area near Dodson park . One idea to to extend the lower orange trail across the red trail and do a 1/4 pipe thing and hook back into the red trail by the hobo camp. This is the dashed orange line.

Yellow

Worked today for a few hours laying out the rest of the yellow sticker chute bypass trail. Its getting longer and curvier! This layout avoids the short, choppy climb that was happening as it was laid out.

Might need a chainsaw for one part and a buildup or cut through of a good sized tree down

more flagging fun at Sals

Heard the BIG TRAIL DAY at Sals was a plop and fizz(le) Saturday, oh well what do you expect with a 2 day notice.

I was there today looking over the blue bypass extension (girly man) and I started flagging the return back down to the original bypass. The idea here is to have this section be fast and flowy, but not take 4 months to complete. So as much rake and ride as possible.

Trail work for Saturday at Sals

This is short notice but as we discussed at last nights meeting it is advantagous to post a trailwork session for Saturday. I may be out of town but John is willing to lead the event along with JoeG.

If you are interested in working please post! Areas to work on include the second last turn on the blue extension or possibly locate and haul a few trash items to the road.

I'll post this as an event later tonight.
