Best loop at sals?

Need a little help from some Sals riders. Ive been up twice but but not for a year, gonna try to get there Saturday 12/11/2010. I printed out the map and Im wondering what is the favorite loop starting on the yellow trail at Dodson street. Maybe take the upper red over to the blues? I just dont want to end up riding it all backwards, you know what im saying....Thanks in advance for the help!!

Anybody else notice the large hunting stand/ with full camo surround

I noticed this last week and figured it would go away, but it hasnt. Its a large tree stand with camo sheeting or tent all around it. If your heading past the hobo tent area on your way towards the prison its up on the hill to the left. You can see it after you go between the very very tall and large rock on your right, and tree on your left. Check it out.

Urban Legends at Sals

My buddies and I were craving a new ride, so we took a little jaunt down to your neck of the woods (coming from the Pocono's) and tried Sals out last night. Well equipped with gear and lights, we immensely enjoyed the ride. (You guys and gals have done a fantastic job!)

That said, we had one interesting "event" that I would like some input on, if any is available. Here's my story which is re-posted from another website that claims there might be a Ghost Man with 2 dogs roaming the area (sounds absurd, but it is what it is)

Dirt jumps at Sals

U guys may already know about this and assuming u don't i have debated whether or not to post anything...but after reading about what happened in philly, i decided to say something...there is small dirt jump park being constructed on the west side of the dodson park...opposite to where we start riding...i noticed it yesterday after i was done and just riding around the soccer field...i don't know if it has township/club approval...whoever is building it is doing a nice job...its got a nice berm and three well constructed dirt jumps...i don't want to get anyone in trouble, but after reading

Trees down at Sals

I was riding at Sals today and I noticed a few trees are down on the trails, Some of these would have to come out with a chainsaw and one might be good to keep and ride over.

There are maybe two trees down on the old part of the yellow right below the corner of the ball field at Dodson. These are both completely blocking the trail with many branches. It would take a chainsaw to cut them out. Not that everyone rides this rail, but a lot of folks walk it so it would be good if it was cut out.

Yo! Easy on the Sals berms for a few days!

Joe and I were over at Sals today checking to see how the recently rehabed berm turns held up to the deluge we got.

For the most part things are cool-they did lose a little dirt on the surface but nothing major. However, they are soft as anything since they never got a chance to fully set up. The crew did some really hard work Friday evening digging up the gold clay and transporting it to replace the stuff lost from use.

So please don't hit the berms for a few days until they dry out and set up. If you rode them today you would have left a 3-4" rut in the gushy clay.

Friday night Berms and Beer?

Anyone wanna do some trailwork at Sal this Friday evening? This idea came up the other day when we did some work on one of the berms. The second one needs the same TLC.

If we have 5-6 people we could probably knock out the second one in an hour and a half or so. Then, since its Friday we could go into town for some food and refreshment !

Tractor on the Yellow Trail?

Message from Bernie last night said he encountered two guys on lawn tractors sporting blades who claimed to be "smoothing out the trail."

Please post here if you see trail damage.
I can't imagine getting a lawn tractor too far down that trail...

Adding this to the list of totally-crazy stuff that's happened recently. :out:
Unbelievable.

Sals Paintball Incident

No joke.  I noticed paint ball splatters on a few trees yesterday afternoon,  then Matt Miller tells me this:  he was riding up the switchbacks at Sals on Sunday eve around 6:00PM when 6 or 7 paintball pellets whizzed just in front of his face.  He actually found and confronted 2 of perhaps 4 guys in their early 20s, who were pretty non-challant about it.  "Well, we didn't hit you..." was all they pretty much said.  They were in camo, with face-masks, etc.
