For Sale: Thule #870 Fairing/Narrow Load Bars and factory roof rack adapater mounts

This is a small fairing that fits a smaller car. It was purchased for a Vibe and it may have been installed briefly -- or not at all.

I also have the load bars and mounting system that I know fits a Vibe.

All of this to anyone who makes a small donation to the VMB Take A Kid Day MTBing fund !

Nitrogen filled tires

So Ive been wrenching on motocross bikes for the last 2 years on the professional level. We have a full tire deal with Pirrelli so we have been well served at the nationals and with supercross. I have had the pleasure of being educated on the pricipals of tire dynamics by some of the top engineers in the industry. With this intro laid out, one of the things I have taken away from all this is that nitrogen filled tires behave better than standard air. They are more temperature stable with no moisture in bottle gas.

Shoes?

OK I need new shoes! I pay big $$$ for tele boots & am in bike shoes way more. Right now I'm thinking around $150 for mtb, but am considering Sidi Dominators off road & Genius for the road too so... price is not the leading factor. Who's wearing what & why do you like them?

Trail Light

Ok, I need to buy a helmet light and I'm not sure which one to get. I do know that it should be LED and have a Lithium Ion battery pack. Whats a comfortable amount of lumen's to have out on the trail? Thanks for your suggestions!

PIMP MY RIDE

Hi guys,
looking for some discussion and pointers etc.

Wanna upgrade to hydraulic brakes along with the necessary change in wheelset to go with it.

Can people please share there experiences good and bad and maybe give me some help making a decision. Obviously i'm on a budget but at the same time i don't mind paying out for a bit of quality. Somewhere there has to be a balance.

Cheers

Oh P.S. is changing out handlebars, stems, seatposts etc just extravagance or acceptable manly behavior?

Heart Rate Monitors

I'm looking at doing my first ultramarathon (if you want to call it that, it's on the lesser half of ultra's) and have begun a regular training regiment. It's a 50k trail run in September and I'm looking at getting a HRM to compliment the training. I know a lot of you guys use the Garmin 705 but that's not convenient for running. I'd like something that is wearable as a watch. Polar makes some watch-style monitors that can also do GPS (either internally or through an external GPS clip-chip). I'd like it to be both running and bike compatible, so distance, speed, etc.

All-mountain bikes

Well, my Trek took a dump this Sunday. Broke one of the arms of the rear triangle. The lifetime warrant will take care of it, but I'm pretty sure that it will be replaced with a carbon rear end (from what I dug up on forums). Carbon's wicked, so I'm siked for the day I can race the bike, BUT I will not be taking carbon to a few of the areas up here. So, I need to start considering a bigger bike. "All-mountain"ish to possible "freeride"ish in specs. 5"-7" frames are in my range. I'm interested to hear what people have for used bikes, what people recommend, etc.
