Presta valve extensions?

I have a trouble getting my floor pumps to seal on the shorter stemmed presta valves. I was wondering about buying extenders but the write ups say they are for deep dish rims.

Can somebody give me some extender details? The pumps work fine with longer stems but some times the short ones drive me crazy!!

Who uses a GPS on rides?

After my incident at Jim Thorpe where i completely lost my bearings and was by myself, i decided i think i want a GPS. I think it'd be more fun to just explore without worrying how far from the car i am and plus it'd be nice to loop around without having to just go so far and turn back to retrace my steps in reverse. So who runs what? I was thinking something in the Garmin eTrex series, just not sure if i need expandable memory like in the Legend HCx, or if i can go with a cheaper model. Or a compass. Haha

Question about Brooks saddles

I am currently staring at the Brooks Swift Ti saddle I recently scored on eBay for half price, like new. It's awfully pretty and with that said, before I get too attached to it for asthetic reasons, does anyone have any practical experience with getting these sorta wet or muddy?

At first I figured it would be fine to get a little mud or water on it, as long as I didn't leave it exposed during torrential downpours. And I am totally down with the idea of it moulding to my bum.

Who has experience with platform/clipless pedal combos

I've come to the conclusion that for as much as I like my cheapy Shimano PD-M520 pedals, they just are just really sucking a lot of the fun out of some of my excursions, mainly the ones where the trail consists of a lot of smaller rocks that I'm bouncing and sliding over. In that scenario, I either fall, or have to walk.

Also with slowly creeping up and down rather technical sections, being clipped in is proving to be a pain in the ass.

But that said, I do like to be clipped in whenever possible.

single speed gearing

Maybe you have seen me riding around on my GF single speed that i bought 9 months ago, just love this thing. Anyway the bike has 32 in front and 18 in the back thats the way the bike came. The gearing works great everywhere except J-burg. When riding there my rpm's are very high. Was thinking of changing the front to a 34 or maybe just changing the back one to a 16. Which is better or is it the same. What would you do please give opinion. Thanks Wink P.S. please stay on topic

SVBikes Ride B4U Buy Saddle Demo Program

Saucon Valley Bikes has demo saddles from Fizik & WTB. The point behind a saddle demo program, is that you can actually RIDE the saddle before you buy the saddle. Pick a saddle from 12 different demo saddles, leave a deposit, put the saddle on your bike, & you have a week to figure out if it is the right saddle for you or not, if not, try another saddle, it’s that simple. We certainly realize that a saddle is a very personal thing, just because one of your friends may like a particular saddle, doesn’t mean that you’ll like it.
