OK, I'm officially going clipless. I got a gift card for Christmas, and I'd like to get them ASAP. I'm excited and nervous at the same time.
Sooooo....tell me which pedals you use and why. Do I want a shimano pedal, or an egg beater pedal?? I have really small feet. I usually wear a women's 7 and a men's 5. What shoes do you like? HELP!!
Thanks!!
Went a a LBS up near my sister's this week and saw something very interesting...2 Cannondale bikes with a "lefty" fork. I think it was the Rush and the Rize.
It was actually a bit strange looking.:?
Just wondering if any one knows anything about these bikes..performance, quality of the suspension, why the "lefty" shock, the advantage, etc?
Just really curious as I have not ever seen anything like it.
So I went out to jburg today. Sloppy mess. But not the mess I was expecting. I thought it would have been muddy. It wasnt. It was wet snow, 2-4 inches deep. I had to bail after about 30 minutes. Not much fun at all. My shoes are not waterproof. I could only imagine what the FNHR ride would have been like. Not very happy.
Maybe this should go in the road section, but today I picked up a sweet Craigslist'd Cannondale Capo, a 2007, for a rather nice price, at least I think.
The bike is nice, aside from the expected noisy bottom bracket, and there are two dents on the top side of the top tube. Not huge ones, like it's not like the whole tube is caved in, but I'd say they're about a half inch wide, each.
Since we have some tenured riders, I'm wondering if someone could explain some of the benefits of upgrading derailleur cabling. I was reading about it in a book but it never really mentioned what benefit it brings, but that its a good upgrade. Or is this another episode of mythbusters?
Ok, I think I found the ride I am going to break down and buy. Here's the skinny: Used, $1750 being sold by authorized dealer...entire rear shock is being replaced by Specialized since the 07 models apparently had something malfunction on them. Also replacing the valving on bike for both front and rear susp. Cartridges being replaced on front fork. Full warranty as if being sold new (5 yrs on front and rear suspension). I confirmed this with Specialized customer service as well.
Jamie brought up an interesting topic in another thread. He said he rides at 26 PSI - which to me is really low - but maybe it's ME who has the PSI too high?
What PSI do you usually ride at? Do you change your PSI based on the trail system?
Currently in market for used FS bike and am interested in getting imput on the 08 Specialized Enduro Comp SL and what price is fair for a "lightly used" model. Any imput is appreciated.
