Road Rage Doctor Sentences To 5 Years
Hey, it's dangerous out there on the road. At least this judge saw the death potential of the driver's intentions:

Because where would we be without trails?

By now you've likely seen the email sent out to all VMB paid members and website users. As it mentioned, 2009 was a new high-water mark for us and 2010 promises to be even better.
Something that's been on my mind lately is how much diversity there is within this sport.
There's:
Racing (anything from a downhill run that lasts mere minutes to 24-hour endurance events)
Social and group rides
There are riders who ride purely for fitness, fun or maybe for release
There are riders who are here for the nature experience of pedaling in the woods
I've been doing some trail marking work at SME - how does one add hours to the Trail log?
I saw this all over facebook last night, about two hours too late to do anything about it but worry, good thing these guys know how to organize...

I absolutely love the councilman's BS rationale for killing the skate park, and how he got schooled, and his weasel-worded backpedaling.
VMB received a very generous donation from mntbikr18.
Thanks so much for your support Evan Decker-Spence! We're ordering some new tools this weekend...
Several months ago a Land Owner approached me since he knows I ride. He owns a large parcel of land that was formerly a quarry. He finally noticed that a large BMX DJ Park was built on a reclusive corner of his property.
His initial reaction was that he had to bulldoze it due to liability. When he came to me, I told him the story about Catty Woods and how that turned into a winner. I made a few phone calls and eventually arranged a meeting.
Hi Folks- I just wanted to get the word out about a new effort between CAT and the area local bike shops to help spread information about all types of cycling opportunities in the Lehigh Valley area. The site is http://lvbike.com and it will be evolving into a portal of information for road, mountain, cross, racing, lifestyle, and touring for both locals as well as folks looking for information about cycle touring in the Lehigh Valley area. Feedback and content is always welcome, so please let me know what you think!
1) Valley Mountain Bikers recently received an additional donation from a paid member. (I don't share names/amounts without permission.) Thanks very much, presently anonymous member!
2) The now defunct Chain Gang was generous enough to split their existing treasury between VMB and JORBA because of the positive work of each organization.
Today, I received a check for $207.
If you see somebody with a Chain Gang jersey on the trail, be sure to say thanks!
I am sure many of you have had incidents with vehichles out on the road while riding your bicycle. This ongoing trial in LA is particularly interesting, as well as an eye opener. Check it out here:
