PA Senate's Budget Would Close at Least 35 State Parks

HARRISBURG, Pa., May 14 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The millions of visitors who flock to Pennsylvania's state parks and forests to relax and experience nature's beauty would have fewer opportunities to do so under a budget plan that passed the Senate last week.
If enacted, Department of Conservation and Natural Resources acting Secretary John Quigley said the Senate proposal will force the agency to close at least 35 state parks and 1,000 miles of state forest roads, which would sharply reduce access for anglers, hunters and hikers.

MTB Presentation for local Boy Scouts in April

Valley Mountain Bikers received a request from an Allentown troop to do a presentation on Mountain Biking. I'm expecting to learn more on what they would like, but I expect the format might be loose. I've witnessed excellent "kid-skills" from a few members and I'm sure there are others.

It sounds like it could be any Monday night in April, around 7PM.
Anybody into it?

Thanks,
Doug

Just Days Left to Support Increased Mountain Biking in National Parks
IMBA is urging mountain bikers to register comments in support of a proposed rule change that will make it easier for U.S. national parks to adopt mountain bike trails. There are just days left in the commentary period and they could use your voice.
