Shimano and IMBA Release New MTB Economics Study
IRVINE, Calif.
Enjoying the outdoors is as natural as riding a bike and Shimano American Corporation and the International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) have teamed up to promote how important the activity is. Shimano is a major manufacturer of bicycle components and IMBA is a national advocate for responsible riding and trail construction. Together they are releasing the new document, The Economics and Benefits of Mountain Biking at the National Bike Summit in Washington D.C. March 4 – 6, 2008.

Trail Tools resources

here is some info from the imba website

Rob Lamberton's custom-designed Lamberton rake is similar to a Mcleod. It features a bolt-less handle, so you can use it to check the slope of your trail tread, and it comes with your choice of wooden or fiberglass handle. Also, it is very reasonably priced.

Trexler Game Preserve

Did a hike up there on the North Range with John E, Birdman and Diana V. About a third of the North Range is granted to us to build biking trails for now (according to John E via Tom Gettings).
My first impression was horrible. The place is completely overrun by autumn olive. Unbelievable. Almost impenetrable. No wonder they gave this land to us.

Sunday Trailbuilding?

Anyone want to work on trails Sunday?

BobK is going to be over at SME after 10:30 or so.

I spoke with Bob about flagging out what's left of the new trail at Sals, which would not take all that long. This would probably be in the early afternoon.

I'll end up doing both.
