IMBA Renews Partnership With National Park Service
Somebody was just asking about this. Maybe at the last meeting?
From the IMBA website:
Because where would we be without trails?

Hey is anyone from VMB looking to make it down to the Summit (http://www.imba.com/summit/2010_World_Summit.html),? Its from May 5th to May 8th. We have three folks heading down from JORBA. Would be good to see someone from VMB down. I would propose that based on how club funds look, we send Doug down. Will be a great opportunity to rub elbows with IMBA folks and other clubs from across the country, great workshops....

Lately, it sometimes seems that there's so much good stuff that this club is involved with — I can't keep track of it all. There are so many members who help make new trails, access, club growth, organization, etc. a reality...
I think it's worth sharing some of the stuff that VMB is involved with "behind the scenes."
The Salisbury trails committee planned and executed a great trail day at Walking Purachase Park that resulted in a cool new trail feature, while...
"VMB North" was busy with a cleanup day at Glen Park. I understand this went well, while...
The Trexler trail committee hiked and hashed out plans for the year's new trail building at Trexler Nature Preserve
Whew! That's a big day
Thanks to everyone who pitched-in at each location!
Just a matter of time before the singletracks are on there!

Saw this on some of the local virtual fishwrap and thought the VMB'ers who support this project could help out. Kinda sucks you have to have a Facebook acct to vote, but:

The month of February is off to a great start thanks in no small part to two recent generous donations to VMB...
HUGE "THANK YOU!!" to:
Derrick West.
I've known Derrick for quite a while -- back in the days when Ticey had his "Fountain Hill Fat Tire Fest." It's very good to be back in touch. We see each other pretty regularly these days -- in the woods.
Derrick, thanks man!
Bud Seiple.
Great interview! Except, each time I hear someone say like "I don't wear a helmet in places I feel safe," I think about friends with great bike skills who have had their worst crashes on tame terrain.
Wanted to post up a vid link to two new trails that were completed last year here in NJ. One is located in Ringwood (Warm Puppy) and the second is in Allamuchy (Lumpy Bumpy). Both of these trails were formally proposed and approved by the NJDEP Parks Department. Just goes to show all those folks that think all this IMBA stuff and advocacy efforts just ends up making flat boring trails!!!
Hope you like....http://gallery.me.com/ellenandart#100272
