Rides

Ride stories, planning of rides, anything to do with riding that bike

Lackawanna State Park

On Monday I was given a tour of Lackawanna SP, a few miles northwest of Clarks Summit. Just a little over an hour a way from VMB land.

Almost instantly it reminded me a bit of riding Prompton and a bit more of riding in Vermont. It was less rocky than here and much faster and Prompton, which can make for a very fun ride. All singletrack, no huge climbs but a lot of screaming descents.

There was one trail with switchbacks cut in exactly like the ones on the Spanky at Sals.

There are 15+ miles of trails. I hope to post a map on here soon.

French Creek

Any suggestions on a French Creek loop? I have the map from the DCNR but was trying to put something together and I haven't been there in a couple of years.

Sunday AM South Mountain

Total newbie to the area. I'm a "Valley Green" transplant lookin' for some locals to kick my ass up a few of these "cliffs" I've heard exist up this way. Anyone able to do a ride on Sunday AM around 8 AM? I'll need some guidance getting to a meeting place...

Early Morning Ride

anyone? Would like to be back around 10 or so, sick of riding solo. Gotta be back to get some stuff done before taking my nephew to the airport in the afternoon. Thinkin Sals or Jordan around 7:30 intermediate pace to enjoy the morning if we don't get too much rain tonight

So I just moved to Macungie a few weeks ago and am looking to get back on the trails. Any suggestions on which trails to try out first in this area?
