Ride stories, planning of rides, anything to do with riding that bike

RIde Ratings - let the debate begin!

At Tuesday's VMB meeting the topic of ride ratings was discussed, and it was a general consensus that ride postings and descriptions could do a better job in this area for those riders who are new to the mountain biking and not familiar with the planned ride. So here is what I have used in the past with a different mountain biking group. It is a condensed version of what is printed in "Mountain Biking Pennsylvania" - which I felt had the best rating system I had seen.

Rides are rated on two criteria: Aerobic Level and Technical Difficulty.

AEROBIC LEVEL RATINGS:

Sals was packed

I pulled up for the noon ride. I got the last parking space, thinking "must be a soccer game". No game, Dodson was packed with bikers. Not bad for a November day.

Rudy, we need a new name for the Pumper. It seems to have a flat tire rate of at least 20% of the time. Rich double flatted, Dan flatted, I think the dude that Dan was riding with flatted. I flat about 1 in 5 on it.

Well Chrissy didn't flat, she did a berm role....

Round Valley

Riding RV with 2 NJ buddies 8am Wed morning. I'd be up for the Cushetunk stuff too if someone wants to show me around, otherwise it will most likely be the out and back. 13 miles or so on the out and back with basically only 1 hill.... Lol

Jacobsburg tomorrow morning

My brother and his GF are coming for the weekend. He's an intermediate rider and has done JBurg before. His GF and I are beginners. He's promising to teach us alot of basics, but also to "kill our legs", whatever that means...

So, we'll be there around 10-ish tomorrow morning (10/18) if anyone wants to join us. Promises to be a real slow beginner style ride for us girls, though he's planning on going off on his own a bit for the more technical stuff.

My cell is 570-406-1272. Call or text if ya wanna come or if you're gonna be there!

WP/JT 10-11 TR

Great day to be outside! Here's a little TR from yesterday's ride.

Left Weissporrt with BW just after 1:00 for the first leg of the journey which is some fun singletrack that winds back and forth along the canal path. Nice fast, twisty trail with afew rcoky technical sections and well built ladder bridges/stunts. There was a lot of activity on the river since it was a dam release day and the fall colors are really starting to pop
