Well it's about that time that the lifts start running at Spring Mt for Launch Bike park.
Saturday and Sunday, September 11 & 12, will be free full-day lift tickets to all riders. Thereafter Launch will be open Friday nights, Saturday & Sunday days through the Fall.
2010 lift ticket rates:
Friday nights (4PM to 8PM) Tickets: $12
Saturday and Sunday (10AM to 6PM) Tickets: $20
This is the big weekend. Saturday is the Short Track at 10:00 AM, Up Hill at 11:00 AM and Super D at 12:00. The long board race is at 2:00 PM. Sunday is the XC race. The weather is supposed to be perfect!

So, here's your chance to pay back all the BC does for you such as getting you entered into Touch Mudder after it was closed or provide you with a fun place to ride and drink beers every Tuesday night. hint, hint....
Figured I'd introduce myself since I've been lurking awhile. Name is Shawn, and I'm looking to join vmb come springtime. I'm 34, and first started mountain biking around 91 on a old trek. I've ridden many different bikes throughout the years, and currently have a specialized epic collecting dust. I say that because I had a serious injury at work in may 2010, and don't forsee me riding again until spring 2011. I really want to get serious about riding again (XC), and have a goal to do some am racing.

Well, on a whim, I'm headed off to Diablo on Thursday. They have a great deal for newbies during the week till the end of the month...DH bike rental, helmet/protective gear, lift ticket and 2hr lesson..right up my alley and pretty cheap! :rockon:
I have checked google and yahoo maps. Seems my options are 22E->33N->191->94...shortest distance at 88miles but about 2hr drive
Other options 22E->Memorial Parkway(57E)->80E->15N->94..longer at 94 miles but not much longer in time. Last option is longest at 120miles via 78E to 287 ->80->15->94 and longest time at 2hr+
Please let me know asap?

Was cruizing around Emmaus yesterday with Stavros and came across 2 new guys sporting some brand new Walmart bikes complete with stupid narrow straight handle bars with climbing grips. Regardless of their equipment they were making their way around, a little beaten down by the heat and the climbs but generally discovering a new sport. We talked for a bit and went on our ways.
Anyone know where to borrow or rent a hand bike for a day?
