Rode Jacobsburg again

Rode Saturday morning, had a blast! Weather was perfect. Rode with my little brother, an intermediate rider from Jersey. He's a great teacher, and took the time to make sure I was doing things "properly". Rode most of the "non sketchy" stuff, as he would say. That climb at the powerline sucks, I confess I walked about half of it.

Got 5 or 6 miles in before his bike broke. Something about a broken hub...
Had to walk about 2 miles back to the car, but no biggie. It's all good! Can't wait to get back out there again and hopefully meet some of you.

Who isn't riding?

Well if your on this site and your not riding your bike somewhere......shame on you Wink

dan's riding lehigh, trailwork with bernie, trailwork at trexler, greg's takin' a bunch of folks to hell's hollow's. I'm sure there are gonna a be a ton of riders out there. i'll even be at the track b/c we're puttin' on a madison league.

either way, stay safe, wear orange, be polite, ride hard and sleep good, and don't be a DB.

Rails-to-Trails Morning Call piece

Anyone read today's Morning Call piece on Rails -to- Trails in Coopersburg and Hellertown? Interesting stuff. Home owners closest to the old lines apparently have concerns about burglary and trespassing. Thankfully, the article points out community support for these old rail lines to get dug up and turned into biking and walking trails. If anyone gets the MC, its on section B3 and B5.

Full Moon Ride?

I'll be at work late tonight, but if I can drum up some willing parties I'd be into a full-moon ride at Salisbury.

I'm talking a little late, say around 8 or so -- but we can figure that out later.

Figure I'd mention it and see if anyone can swing it...

p.s. You CAN bring lights.

TupperWare cookie container - Trexler Trail Day

Did anyone pick-up my tan Tupperware cookie container from the Trexler Trails build day on Sunday? Let me know and I can coordinate pick-up. Great day, we got a lot done. Trexler will be a great area to ride, me and the boys look forward to more trail work. They have their last race event this coming weekend (the RacersEdgeOnline event in Hereford, MD) so after that we spend more time building.

Help a Fallen BMX Rider, MIKE AITKEN

"Recently, Mike Aitken was in a severe BMX accident. He has severe head trauma. The medical bills will be enormous. Mike is a professional rider and in his line of work he is not eligible for health insurance. They claim he is "too high risk." Mike has contacted numerous insurance offices and has been denied by all. This is where the BIKE community can come together and lend a hand to someone in need. You can help." 5050bmx

He was filming a Bmx video part in bethlehem when he overrotated a 360 and crashed.

If anyone is interested in helping out please got to www.5050bmx.com
