Howdy!

Greetings all- finally got back into cycling, and like whoa I had no idea there was a valley MTB club. Nice! I caught wind of y'all when I was lookin for trail locations over on Mtbr.com.

Anyways, I'm going to be checking out Sals for the first time Sunday morning, after which I will probably feel obligated to pay membership dues haha.

re: Officer nominations

So much momentum...
• A "home ride" so good -- it made the cover of Bike magazine
• Another whole new trail system on the horizon
• A bunch of new members, including some females who can tear it up
• Events that are more fun than should be legal
• Some great rides coming up this fall

VMB needs riders who are excited about the club and have a little extra time and energy to move things in 2009. The things listed above only happen when you give a little.

Please step up if you're interested.

Kids riding apparel??

OK, maybe I am being a P.E. Dad, but I would like to get Josslin some riding shorts. Our last ride up the Switchback 3 weeks ago she did some belly aching about her :moon: hurting on the way back down.

I can't seem to find toddler aged riding apparell anywhere online or in shops. Has anyone had success outfitting their kids?

Build with Junk

 I just watched Drive, a show on Fuel TV, the part that got me was in Hot Springs, AZ some guys built a skate park. they used old tires & filled them with dirt to make the foundations for the bowls. Seems like a great idea for berms, pump track or dj building.

Come North on October 5th

My real name is Rob and I'm part of Hubbard Bike Club. The Nature Conservancy (Jenny Case) contacted us about a year ago to build trails on their Moosic Mountain Preserve in Northeast PA (Thanks to Jay DeJesus). We took this oppourtunity and made the most out of it. This is the FIRST time east of the Mississippi that TNC is working with riders and letting US build the trails! We have over 380 hours into 8+ miles of singletrack on the most deverse landscape you can find in 1,500 acres. The average ride is about 2 hrs long.

New Here

Hi all. New to this forum and just wanted to introduce myself. Name is Michele. I live in E. Stroudsburg, and am 37yo stay at home Mom. Husband was a MT biker years ago and recently got back into it with the help of my little brother. Not wanting to be left behind, I decided to give it a try and I’m hooked. Haven’t been on any real trails yet, just some road riding and a some “gravel/dirt road” stuff here in the neighborhood.

Crazy Coinsidence

So I leave work to go to the Trexler Mall yesterday and I am approaching the intersection of the 22 bypass and Grange Rd.

As I get closer and closer to the light I notice the white SUV in front of me has a mountain bike on the back.

Closer I get I can tell it is a really nice bike.

Closer yet I can see that it is a Honda Pilot.

Closer yet I can see the bike is a Santa Cruz.

Now am right behind him and the the Santa Cruz is a Heckler and it is Liquid Blue just like mine.
