Garmin data from Lehigh/Sals Sunday

Here are links to the Garmin Data that my friend and techno geek Dan Ellis [yeah, another techno geek named Dan, like the world needs one more;)] recorded. Press the Play button on the start locations and you will see the location, speed, elevation and heart rate changes overlaid in real-time. It is prety cool stuff.

I like that we did it a a pretty fast clip and our average was only 8mph. Ouch...

EWR Demo Bike @ SV Bikes

My personal EWR OWB29er is at Saucon Valley Bikes for the week. Feel free to check it out for a demo -- it is a large (for riders 5'10" and up) and it is REALLY FAST. If you are interested in scheduling a ride on it, contact Steve @ SV Bikes.

Remember: elbows up, lead with your chin...

Trail/Ride Ratings

I'm starting fresh with this one...

I'm looking for one new rider (less than two years off-road), one seasoned rider (at least five years off-road), and, to break any possible ties -- one Rudy. Rudy is just about the most diplomatic guy I know, plus: he's got time on his hands, he was damned near vp, and his body is like a road map of local trail features. Lol You game for it Rudy?

The committee will figure out the system, present it to the officers and we'll start using it when we post some new rides!

Post here if you're interested.

Foosball

Anyone out there play foosball. Just got a table for Christmas, something I've been wanting for a long time. We brought the table into the shop for the slower winter months, just seeing if anyone would be interested in a VMB/SVB foosball Tuesday tournaments. BYOB, & foosball, could be good fun

New Years/Port Clinton ride data

Here is a Map and Ride Data from the balmy New Year's ride @ Port Clinton. 3,400 feet ain't no slouch ride, and the downhills are long and bomber-style. Neat thing is to compare the climb rates to the heart rate data. You can actually see Matt slumming with his tongue dragging in the spokes. There are a lot more trails there, but this is enough to get you started. Courtesy of Matt Moore. Take Joey along if you want to see a bike break...

New Years by the numbers.

Did the traditional "Long New Years ride", alas, not a Bud Sieple Memorial Century due to the cold. Big Mt. loop up at the Pinnacle/Port Clinton instead. Here's the raw data:

# of riders: 6 at start, 4 at finish
# of roadies in attendance: 2 at start, 1 at finish
Total climbing: about 3,400 feet
Total miles: about 18
Total time out: 5 hours
Total riding time: don't ask
Total times lost: only once
Times Robbie has ridden with Joey in the cold on his Marin: 2
Times Joey's Marin has broken riding w/Rob in the cold: 2
