As I'm sure some of you have seen, someone has taken it upon themselves to demolish via sledgehammer some of the more technical lines at Bear Creek. It is almost literally sickening what is being done.
I am not sure who this person is but we really need to find out and put an end to it before anymore damage is done.
Some of us will be at Bear Creek on Sunday morning at 9:00 Am doing some routine trail clean up. I plan on cutting out some downed trees, re-directing some standing water and general trail clean up from the windstorm 2 weekends ago. We also might do some bridge repair. We will most likely ride after we are complete.
I'd appreciate any help.

Tough Mudder is scheduled for Sunday, 5/2. The staff from Tough Mudder will be at Bear Creek all week getting ready for the event. The trails will remain open now through Saturday, You may see signs, tape and obsticles on or around the trails. Just go under or around them. The trails, and Bear Creek for that matter, will be closed on Sunday, 5/2. You will not be able to even enter Bear Creek unless you are competing in Tough Mudder or have purchased a spectator pass.
I did a loop at Bear Creek yesterday and was surprized to see motorcycle tracks all over. In sections, it looked pretty torn up. Looks like no trail is safe.
Well, sad to say I think I forgot the ipod on top of my car as I drove off from lot 4 yesterday, March 17th. It's an 8 gig. Reward if you found it. I can't afford another.
Went inside for a bike trail pass and they said the trail was closed.

Bear Creek has 2 trail related events coming up. We are hosting an off-road Tri on Sunday, 8/30 and the Summer Showdown XC race on 9/13. To get ready for these events we are working hard on getting our trails up to race standards. If anyone sees anything that you feel needs improvement, let me know. All trailwork will be completed by 9/4. We will start to mark the XC race course on 9/8 with completion by 9/11. The course will be ready to pre-ride on 9/12.
If anyone is interested in helping ou either marking trail or helping during the event, let me know.

This Sunday morning is the Xterra race at Bear Creek. It's either a 10K or 21K event. This means the trails will be closed on Sunday morning to everyone except the race. The race should be over by early afternnon at which point the trails will re-open.
I know that its not a lift service facility from reading on their site, but what kind of trails exactly do they offer? is it just cross country or do they have some bridges/northshore and any jumps? Just don't want to make a drive up there if it's just XC that I can get closer to home!
