Bear Creek Update

We are in the process of putting in some new trail that re-routes you around some low-lying wet sections that need some time to dry out. Most of the work is currently being done on the back side of the mountain in and around the plank bridges and after the tree bridge. The closed trails will be marked and blocked. At some point we will re-open the trails as another route option but some of the areas just need to be left alone for a while to dry out. I think you will like the new trail.

Bear Creek Trails are Now Open

With tough Mudder behind us, the trails are now open. They are a bit muddier than normal since we had 10,000 people running them this past weekend. Also, please stay clear of trail 2 on the slopes for the next 2-3 weeks This was 'mud mile' for Tough Mudder. We fixed the trail but it needs time to dry.

BC 1st ride of 2011

It felt so nice to get back to the homeland! Gotta love BC! Anyway, I just wanted to give a little update on the trail conditions. Everything is ridable and the trail was fairly dry even after all the rain we had last week. The two stream crossings were spilling over their banks but it only effected 20' of trail. Cleaned it all, only stops I had to make were for the millions of tree branches that seem to be magnetized to my rear derailleur hanger. I cleaned most of the debris off the trail (at least 2/3 of it...then I just couldn't stop anymore so Motolite just had to deal with it!).

Bear Creek - Opening on 12/10

The 2010-2011 Bear Creek Ski and Snowboard season opens Friday, 12/10 at 9:00 AM. We anticipate opening with 90%-100% of our slopes open. The mountain bike trails will remain open. Just remember to stay on the marked trails, stay off the slopes except for trail 1 at the very top and stay off trail 2.
Of course remember to sign at the Kiosk and stop in for some Hot Chocolate after your ride!

Trail Update

You may see some activity on the trails in the next week or so as we prepare for our upcoming events. Just so everyone is clear, I figured I'd detail what we are doing.

Pump Track Update

Just an fyi that we plan on starting our construction of the pump track this week. The pump track will be located in the bowl area on trail 1 just after the first climb at the start of the trail from lot 4. Trail 1 will remain open but we will be closing off the drop in's to the bowl due to construction. Just stick to trail 1 in this section and you will be fine. If you want to be involved in this process, please stay tuned. We will certainly need some help and will post dates as the become known.

Thanks
