Wednesday Rides and Allamucy

Hi,

I've never done one of the group rides but was thinking about it.  I've been to Salis a bunch but have never been to Emmaus. I read Emmaus is a little tougher than Salis, so that's kinda good.... not that it needs to be. I do like the brutality of Salis.  I'm just wondering if I should go on my own or join in on the wednesday group ride.  If I do a group ride with friends, I typically like to be in smaller groups... they keep moving and are less cumbersome.

New to the LV trails

New to the Lehigh Valley and looking to explore some trails.  Trying to get back in the MTB scene again after about a year or so out of it.  Anyone up for sporadic rides in the Allentown/Bethlehem/Nockamixon area?  I can't always make it out to the Wednesday night rides and riding is always more fun with a good group.  Lemme know if you're interested!

Group rides "sponsorship"

It seems that many bike shops run their own group rides and do so very successfully. Since group rides are something we are interested in providing but to date haven't really succeeding in doing, would it make sense for us to offer to "sponsor" a group mountain bike ride for any interested bike shop up to once a week.

Fc Cycling Club Meetup Group Mountain rides

Hi VMBers,
I know this club is all about riding. I am not trying to take away from the unity of the club. I just want to give you all more riding opportunities. Our mountain bike ride offerings are expanding since we starting using Meetup.com to help us stay organized with our group rides, as I know other shops have done. We offer a few rides for different skill levels. Here they are and go to http://www.meetup.com/Fc-Cycling-Club/ to see our whole calendar.

Tuesday 6:00pm - Bear Creek Mountain Ride with Eugene and Geoff

Nassau NJ

Anyone ride there? Its not horribly far from me so I was thinking it might be a good day trip. Not a lot of info online I could find but it sound like its just a large loop split in half by a road.

What? - no Wendsday ride....

No Wednesday ride posted and it's the first Wednesday in a long time I can actually ride that is not on the Man's time! Sad :cryin:
If the usual crowd isn't going out, anyone want to spin the pedals? :poke:
How about a 5:30 start - Venue is flexible but Bear Creek could be interesting or Sals if it is easier/closer for most folks.
Chatter....

Another Weekly Ride?

So hey, I was thinking there might be other folks out there like me who can never do Wednesday night rides.

Not meant to deter from the Wednesday night rides, but perhaps in addition, is there any interest in a weekly ride on another night? Or perhaps a weekly Sunday am ride, something like that? Sunday (or Saturday) rides can perhaps open up the possibility of hitting up Nox or Trex more often, too, instead of the usual close-by Sals/SMB/SME.

Sals Crust ride - Tuesday noon

Rain, Snow and single digits temps will certainly cancel school tomorrow and with a little luck, form that all elusive CRUST.
Based on the forecast, the temps should rise to the high 20's by noon'ish - warm enough to ride but cold enough for the crust to still hold.
The bigger question - was the snow enough to cover over this weekend's traffic or will Sals be rutted out.
I am up to try any venue tomorrow - Sals, Emmaus or Nox.
Nox has the least climbing but probably got more rain than snow so conditions might not be right
Screw the man - ride.
