Lehigh County Parks is starting to develop a master plan for Jordan Creek Park. I was invited to participate as a mountain biker in the first general meeting last Monday that included reps from several different areas including Disc Golf, Forestry, County Parks, and Wildlands that was hosted by a local consulting company carrying out the process. The intent of the master plan development is to update the park and improve the facilities. The county recognizes that Jordan is widely used by a large number of people but has not received any updates for many decades. The primary focus is to co
Looking for a little help from anyone interested to help flag a short re-route at Jordan
In October, the newly formed Pennsylvania Interscholastic Cycling League (a chapter of the the national high school mtb league, NICA) will hold a race at Jordan. We expect several hundred students from 25-30 schools from across the state to attend (some led by VMB members).
I rode here this morning and did a full loop took a break and hit some stuff the other way. Nothing was blocked on the first loop around but on the way back we ran into a section of trail that was blocked from both ways where someone decided it needed to be bypassed.
The section that was bypassed was a chunky section about 30 feet long that's not hard. I took the liberty of tossing all the dead wood back in the woods. There is no reason for a bypass there and I noticed a few others around rocky sections today.
Lehigh County is beginning their process for a master plan for Jordan Creek Park and because of VMB's involvement in other area parks has asked us if we would like to be involved in the process.
Unfortunately we don't have any significant details but if anyone would like to get involved and represent VMB, send me a PM.
Thanks, mtv
I was thinking of testing out the new Anthem 29er at Jordan this Saturday, 1 December. I was wondering if it would be good to go or not?
Thanks Dan
Anyone been to Jordan this week and know the conditions?
Superb and rocket fast. We got just enough rain to keep the dust down but everything is really solid and grippy.
enjoy.

I will not be hosting my weekly group ride this week because I will be attending the Interbike East Demo up in Providence RI until Friday. I will resume this awesome weekly event next week, Oct 14 at the usual time.

Theres's a huge tree down at Jordan blocking the trail, definitely needs to be cut out with a chain saw...hint.hint...my chainsaw toting friends...
Leave the tennis court parking lot heading down the gravel road, cross over both bridges and make the right on the first single track trail on the right...follow path down to and along creek...shortly after the low tree that you have to duck to ride under is this newly fallen tree which is totally blocking trail and unable to be ridden under or over...and covered in vines.
