...are these championship only, points races, or are normal joe schmoes who might have off that day and want to race allowed to register? I am not a threat by any means but am unsure if we were allowed to enter, and if so, if it would be frowned upon.
Is there an updated map for BC? Went there today, and there are way more trails than the current topo map shows. I stayed on 1 with my buddy for alot, but there was 2 and 6 and a black diamond we took for alot too. Really liked it, but a new map would be awesome.
Also, does anyone know the upcoming race route???
Thanks Shawn
I haven't been there since the week before they actually got snow- is the entire loop available for riding? I only ask because it seems like parts of it go where there may be actual skiing happening, although I've never been skiing so I wouldn't know.
We opened a new section of trail yesterday. We cut a windy section complete with berms on the back side of the mountain. This is now part of our trail 1 main trail. It adds a bit more distance and allows us to close an eroded section of trail that needs to be repaired. We are opening a new section of trail 5 which will connect with the new trail 5 and ties in to the new section of trail 1. Trail 5 is the trail at the top of the mountain that starts at the double wide behind the snack shack and takes you to the top of the downhill.
Bear Creek's trails are open and in really good shape. We have alot of projects on the schedule this season including cutting some new trails, improving bridges, cleaning up some of the trails and repairing some eroded sections.
Some of you might have noticed that we've been busy with the chipper and cleaned up a lot of the downed branches in and around the trails by the pond.
We have 2 XC races on the schedule this year as well as a Super D and Short Track race in August.
Mike Kuhn is running a Nationals preperation camp in late July.
Does anyone when they close the trails for mountain biking? And conversely, when they re-open them?
TIA!
Gary- u may best be able to answer this but anyone know if there is anyway to clean up at BC besides a sink shower? Is there an outside shower anywhere at the resort?
Just curious as I am hitting the trails and then meeting my wife and friends for dinner and I don't want to smell up the restaurant or ruin anyone's meal with my stink.
also..anybody know what they have on tap currently so I can lust for it as my thirst gets parched on the ride?
Is one direction more easy or more fun then the other? Today was my first ride at bear creek and we went clockwise but we passed 2 people going counter clockwise.
Bear Creek will be hosting 2 different Triathlons on 7/30 and 7/31. The mountain bike trails will be closed during the race. The race should be over by 12:00 noon both days. You may ride the trails once the race is over but please do not remove any caution tape or arrows.
Thanks
