Watch out - new tree down at Sals

Wind was bad yesterday. Watch out for a big tree newly down suspended off the trail about 100 yards or so after the crick crossing on Red but before that short rock garden. Just after the turn and into a little descent so you'll be picking up a little speed when you see it - no warning especially at dawn/dusk. A definite climbover - bigger chainsaw will be necessary.

Also smaller trees that a foldable saw can take care of just into Lubyland on Blue and near the start of the 3B's. I pulled a bunch of smaller stuff off here and there.

Need some input on Rothrock

My little band of mtb buds have decided to take our annual Mancation trip to beautiful Rothrock State Forest. Surprising, none of us have ridden there, even though it is basically in our own backyard. I've done some research and found there are quite a few places to find good maps such as on NMBA's website and the Purple Lizard maps seem to be very good also.

DIABLO FREERIDE PARK CLOSED

Sad news today Diablo freeride park closes after 9 years of one of the coolest places to ride and hands down the premier DH race "US OPEN" will no longer be around due to new ownership, trail damage sustained during the storms we've had over the last year. I had some off the best summers riding there and watched the best racers in the world battle it out every US OPEN Im sure most of us had fond memories of the place and will miss it dearly. Its a huge lose for the mountain bike community. Farewell.
