caution ribbons at lehigh

regarding the bright yellow "caution caution caution" ribbons which are/were up at lehigh this weekend on the witch trail...i rode the trail anyway and the trail was great. there were a plethora of ROTC dudes in the woods, i believe that the ribbons were placed there to keep the guys alerted to the trails on which they were meant to go.
happy trails~

Trail Sabotage

So Rob from the Lehigh Cycling club contacted me tonight with some crappy news. The LU club was working on a new trail for their on-campus Collegiate race in 2 weeks and the trail was nearing completion until it was destroyed in the past couple days. Not only was it destroyed but the club had most of their trailbuiling tools up there in the woods and they were all stolen as well. The trail was in the vicinity of the new DH trails off the back side of Mountain Top campus between Crazy Bones and Lungbuster and crossing over Moto and Barney Rubble.

Anyone willing to show me around?

I recently got back into mountain biking on a cheap iron horse warrior hardtail but now just ordered a jamis parker and heard lots of good things about these trails. I was wondering if anyone would be willing to help me figure out how to get here and/or show me some trails?

(btw, i found this website by pure fluke on a google search, i look forward to meeting everyone!)

yesterdays valentine ride. 2/14/09

Rich B Kevin E Rock Doug and Myself met mid day for a ride at South it was fun and flowey. Perfect temperature to keep the ground from getting spongebobbed too. There loads of wind downed saplings on the outer loop. We cleared some of the big sections up while we took a few pit stops. the first one was out of sake for my neck and head though. almost got caught up in a vine net that was entirely across a downhill section of the trail. Kevin, Rich and I stopped in time and cleared most of it off and above the trail...

SML(B)

Rode SML yesterday afternoon with Sadie. Southern exposures were generally in good shape. A few muddy areas at the bottom near lung buster and bones. XC trails were very rideable. DH trails had some more muddy areas.

loop suggestions?

saturday mornings shuffle consisted of a ccw loop from the water tower down the downhill trail (name? the one with the big hit to walk around), stinger, crazy bones, lungbuster, cemetery, superman, mohican, birches. the superman must've had a kryptonite shower cuz it certainly kicked my arse - any other suggestions, options, alternates that might be a little more (old fat guy) friendly? with the fall season approching i'd like to ride there a little more but don't know if i want subject myself to that abuse every time :jawdrop:
