Ticks?

Hey all,

I'm going to be staying Allentown come this memorial day weekend and riding the local trails. I'm from New York and specifically in Long Island there is a rampant tick problem. Just wondering if its the same in the trails surrounding Allentown. Last time i rode out there i went to Sal's, Jordan, Trex and Nox.

As a precaution i always keep some insect repellent in the car but just wondering if it's bad in PA like it is in NY.

Left my front tire...

Shot in the dark here to see if anyone came across my wheel today. Dummy me left my front wheel at parking lot today (5/14) when I rode at Lehigh. I was parked in little lot at mountain drive and seidersville and I got off the trail around 3pm. I went back about 15 minutes later and it was gone. It is off specialized compre. 29 inch.

Thanks!

Jason

VMB Board - Seeking Nominations

Everyone - It is that time of year again and we are seeking nominations to VMB board.
We are looking for people that would like to get involved with the club and and help promote biking in the valley. It doesn't require a lot of time - we get together a several times a year for just a few hours. (We all ride and have families too and we schedule everything around that).
The main thing for board members is to be able to openly and productively discuss and advise on issues facing the biking community and the club. some examples are:

race and event planning and scheduling

New Rider - Looking for Group rides

Hi all!

New to the area (live in Bethlehem - work in Quakertown). Just got picked up my first mtn bike! Though I am not a total novice on 2 wheels. Awesome that this group is set up, plan to check out some of the areas listed!

Reaching out hoping some of you folks could fill me in, are there any group rides that go down in the area?

SMB trail conditions

Just a heads up for those of you that ride SMB. The trails are still real soft everywhere. Please stay off of all hand built trails like pipeline, jump line, rump roller etc for a few more weeks. I've seen lots of tracks on pipeline and there is no excuse to be riding a trail with countless dirt features a week after the snow melts. If the builders are not riding it yet you should not be. Stick to the rocky stuff for the next few weeks like snake and others. Thanks for your cooperation. Sorry if this is obvious for you, but clearly it is not for some.
