Hey VMBers. I have not been all that active in the club lately but have been busy trying to do my part in promoting cycling and a healthy active lifestyle up here in Schnecksville. We have had a busy winter and are working on some things for the summer. I hope to see some of you out on the trail if I ever get to ride again.
1. Team Fc - This is our first season with an official race team. We have set up a grassroots level MASS team with a pretty decent roster of beginner and sport level riders. We also have a few road racers, duathletes and triathletes on our team.
I have a Cannondale F4, and am currently trying to decide if I want to box up the 80mm Headshok and ship it to an LBS in new england that specializes in overhauling them, or if I just want to switch to a different fork altogether to maybe get some additional cush.
I am tossing around the idea of buying something like a Rock Shox Recon, or Reba, but this isn't my primary bike and I don't want to be dropping mad coin on a new Reba.
John has returned from Specialized BG Fit school and is ready to start taking appointments. We are offering an introductory rate for the holidays of $100. This will run until the end of the year. I was able to arrange for the Specialized Women's Demo truck to stop by the shop on Tuesday, August 10th. She is going to be in the area and is going to be at the shop from 10am til about 12pm. She is coming to go over product with us but will have some bikes with her as well. This is not a full demo day, but if anyone wants to come check out the bikes and take them for a quick spin they can. If anyone is interested please let me know so we can plan accordingly. She will have some Amiras in a 44, 48, 51 & 54 and Rubys in 48, 51 & 56.
