The trails at Raystown were an awesome ride and not really like anything around here. They aren't really technical and fairly buff but they're far from boring. What they are is XC trails meets pump track and roller coaster. You're always going up or going down, rolling and flowy, and they took every opportunity to put a hump in the trail that they could.
What you end up with is a trail that just about anybody can ride. But when you crank up the speed the challenge and fun really comes out, you have to work to keep your bike on the ground (if you want) and on the trail. With all the turns and humps you have to concentrate on what's next and decide whether you're going to take some air or roll the first hump and hit the second or third one hard and launch it and then get yourself in position for the next turn or you'll eat a tree.
I'd really like to take another weekend trip out there to check it out better. They're fun trails and there might be something we can learn there that would apply to Trex.
