Sharing Good Stuff

A couple recent things worth sharing:

1) Valley Mountain Biker's work is having a influence in the future of new trail systems in other locales.
I've recently attended meetings where local officials, outdoor organization reps., etc have been very interested in the success story of VMB's transformation of Walking Purchase Park. Beyond the impact it's had locally, I'm seeing that it can serve as a model for other places! It's really cool to think that we're having an influence elsewhere. Thumbs up

2) VMB received a new membership this week. Read more »

Not much mountain biking over here...

At least as far as I've been able to determine. World's tallest building, the Burj.

Trail Conditions at Sals and SMB?

Anybody been out riding in the last day or so to give a trail report? Do we need iceskates or do we have that beautiful, ear pleasing crunch on the trails? Puzzled

A Day Off

I finally have a day off Wed so I'm going to goof around at Sals and SMB. Start from home to upper Sals to 3rd street or something then climb up to SMB goof around then back to 3rd street or something then finish with lower Sals then home! Woo Hoo! Rock on I think it was about 20 m last time might be more this time? Shocked

Back from the beach....

Wow, was warm here today. Was expecting to get off the plane to freezing weather. A little eye candy for you from my trip to Sanibel Island. Boy do I miss MTB'ing.

New helmet

I had a bunch of miles that were due to expire on my Scandinavian frequent flyer account. So I sprung for a few little X-mas presents for the family and also a new bike helmet. Comes from Germany.

Has two cool features, which are new to me. The strap fastens with an adjustable tongue (see red release button). And the internal head band that is padded has an adjustment feature...you simply turn the clear star wheel to tighten or loosen the fit. Fits my big fat head like a glove.

Cool matte black also.
