The race features five timed stages (scroll down for stage maps) that take riders over the best descents at Sals. The course highlights the fast, technical, purpose-built mountain bike trails at Salisbury Walking Purchase Park, and this year emphasizes descents. The course was put together by some of the area's top enduro racers and will be challenging but super fun. Riders can use any type of bike, but full-suspensions models with 5 to 6 inches provide the best shot at full stoke. Each timed stage will be run as an individual time trial, with riders departing in 30-second intervals. There will be four non-timed transfers between each stage. These allow riders to regroup with friends and roll along to the next timed section.
Sign up at Bikereg. Online registration closes Thursday, July 13.
We'll once again use wireless beacons that automatically record your time at the finish of each stage. Roll the start and fly through the finish. Yeeaaaw!.
There will be pro and sport categories for women and men. As part of the MASS series, we'll also have categories for Masters Men 45+ and Junior U19
Racers can pick up registration packets, swag bags, and timing chips the morning of the race, from 8:00 to 9:15. There is a mandatory racer meeting at 9:30. Stage 1 will start at 9:45 a.m. Racers must begin the final stage (Stage 5) by 2:15 p.m.
All proceeds from the $45 registration fee go directly to support local trail systems. The race is organized by Valley Mountain Bikers, a 501(c)3 non-profit volunteer organization that builds, maintains and promotes trails in and around Pennsylvania's Lehigh Valley. $1 of each registration will go to the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Cycling League (PICL).
Event parking will be held in the parking deck at the east end of St. Luke's Hospital (Google Maps: St. Luke's University Health Network) at 801 Ostrum St. in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. The parking garage is located on the corner of Ostrum St. and Mohican St. Race registration will be held a short walk behind the garage at Reeb Millworks.
